Sotsuksa Debaratana School in Prachuab Kiri Khan Province is the special school for deaf students.  But the V-Star students in this school have shown their potential that the deafness is not their obstacles.  When the Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh had given his kindness to the students of this school and gave a special homework for them to pronounce the following words such as “I love Luang Pu”, “Namaste Luang Phaw”, etc.  Luang Phaw prepared a special gift, the sacred powder small Buddha image, to the deaf student who could say “I love Luang Pu” best.

After the students had got this special homework from Luang Phaw, their quiet worlds were not silent.  Their eyes were shining bright.  Their teachers helped them to practice pronouncing.  The students looked at the teacher’s mouth and imitated the way to speak.  And the waited day for them arrived, on Sunday September 5th, 2010, ten students who were the representatives from this school came to Dhammakaya Temple to speak in front of Luang Phaw.  The result was Miss Natcha Thonghiang could pronounce “I love Luang Pu” clearer than others.

Miss Natcha Thonghiang or Nong Am is studying in grade 12 and 18 years old.  Due to her willing to pronounce as best as she can, the teachers and other students in the school agreed unanimously to appoint Miss Natcha  Thonghiang to be the president of Kathina Ceremony from Sotsuksa Debaratana School.  The school will arrange the Kathina Ceremony at Kogchangphuag Temple (or the White Elephant’s pen Temple in English) in Prachuab Kiri Khan Province on November 12th, 2010.

After Miss Natcha had received the special gift from Luang Phaw, she meditated following by the advice of the monk in Kogchangphuag Temple.  His suggestion was to visualize the Master Nun’s crystal ball in the abandon or in the center of the body.  When they had meditated for 15 minutes, the teaching monk asked the students about their experiences.  Miss Natcha answered with Thai Sign Language that “I meditated and saw the crystal ball.”

Although this is the school holidays and the students come back home, Miss Natcha still meditates every day.  She also told that “My crystal ball flashes everyday and I see it all the time.”  Moreover, she tries to pronounce the Kathina Offering Speech everyday and makes a wish that “May I and my friend end of trouble from this bad retribution.  I would like to able to speak, not be deaf and disabled, to be rich, beautiful and smart like other people.”

Next is the letter written by Nong Am to Luang Phaw.

Namaste the Most Ven. Luang Phaw with the most love and respect

When I meditated, I experienced the calmness.  I saw the clear crystal ball in my abandon.  It makes me so happy.  I love and miss Luang Phaw every much.  I am willing to meditate every day.  I wish Luang Phaw to be healthy.

Miss Natcha Thonghiang
