World-PEC [World Peace Ethics Contest] 2009

Nowadays,
speaking of World Peace in the atmosphere of the flames from war, terrorism,
environmental problems and the world economic crisis where the morality within humankind
has deteriorated due to the progress of high technology and the expansion of
many inappropriate values causing various social problems, seems too
far-fetched to make World peace happen. Innumerable international
conferences for searching for the solutions to achieve World peace were held,
yet it seems everybody still calls out for world peace. How can we make this
word happen in the real world?
The
Dhammakaya temple with the association of Dhammakaya foundation and Dhammakaya
temple's branches throughout the world
have considered the World Peace Ethics Contest or World-PEC a very beneficial
project. The benefit of World-PEC is that it enables thousands of contestants
from 60 nationalities from six continents to study Dhamma - the lord
Buddha's teachings, which are supreme and universal spiritual truths and
codes of conduct that everybody, regardless of races and religions, can learn and
put into practice to accrue benefits to them and their families. This time, the
book used for the examination is “Faith, The Dawn of World Peace", which
is complied from the preaching of the more venerable Pra Bhavanaviriyakhun
(Luang Phaw Dattajeevo). The content of this valuable book helps explain that
human is born with Ignorance, Sufferings and Fear, which lead them to
choose to take refuge in things that can suppress their sufferings for
only a short period of time, and stop them from searching for the
true cause of Ignorance, sufferings and Fear to eradicate them completely.
The
true faith in Buddhism is " Tatagatabhodhisatta" (Faith in the Lord
Buddha's Wisdom) since it is faith that gives birth to Wisdom to completely
eradicate the seeds of sufferings and Ignorance and encourage the believers to
set the goals and have moral support to follow "the Eightfold path to
Nirvana" and have the wisdom to eradicate the ignorance, sufferings and
fear permanently and this knowledge is not restricted to Buddhists only.
Everybody in the world, regardless of races and religions can practice
"The Eight Ways to Nirvana" and attain Dhamma the same.
To
develop the qualities of the believers of "Tatagatabhodhisatta", we
must develop within us three qualities; there are Discipline, Respect and
Patience. To instill the Faith of "Tatagatabhodhisatta", we must
perform it in our five rooms; bedroom, bathroom, dining room, dressing room and
office or study room.
The
minds of the believers of "Tatagatabhodhisatta" will be
brightened in all positions, wether they stand, walk, sit or lie down, their
minds will be brightened like having the full moon inside their body with their
eyes open or shut, just like the saying," when we are brightened, the
world is brightened". The inner light is actually the source of limitless
morale support in accruing merits and persuing Perfections without feeling
discouraged in performing good deeds. The believers of "Tatagatabhodhisatta"
, therefore, will be the people who have enormous morale support to make World
peace happen.
World
peace might sound too grand to be true but it actually starts from a small spot
which is ourselves. Through studying Dhamma through the book " Faith, The
Dawn of World Peace". If we all instill the Right Faith in our mind all
the time, the small thing which leads to the great thing creating the inner
peace called World peace will happen in our world for sure.
