Core Value # 5 : The real existence of the ‘world’

Save world

The term ‘world’ in Buddhist terminology means more than just our planet. It means:

     - All things subject to deterioration, whether it be our bodies, our minds or our  possessions.
     - It means all the living beings with whom we share the world

-	It means all the living beings with whom we share the world

     - It means the physical environment in which we live Someone pessessing this fifth sort of core value will not be able to deny that the action of their own mind, whether it be intentions, cheerfulness or depression, or mental habits and defilements-all have a real effect on life. They will be inspired to take responsibility for the wellbeing o other beings in the world, that they, like you, have minds and feelings, so that you don’t fall into the trap of exploiting them without prior thought. One will also gain a feeling of responsibility for the natural wnvironment, avoiding the temptation to destroy it for one’s own convenience. This form of core value leads one to take responsibility for one’s actions on three levels, instead of getting caught up in nihilistic philosophizing.
