Merit Zone ... The Bright Zone in Your Mind

In this year, Wat Phra Dhammakaya Singapore did not miss a good chance to announce the Great Kindness of the Lord Buddha by arranging the Vesak Day.  This was the 7th time of this event arranged in Singapore and it was permitted by Singaporean Government.  Vesak Day in Singapore was on May 5th, 2012 and this event was arranged during May 4th – 6th, 2012 at the heart of Bukit Batok Community.  The staffs had installed three temporary giant tents and three middle tents which covered about 1-Rai court and decorated the space as the events of the birth, enlightenment, and death of the Lord Buddha.  Moreover, there were many zones for accumulating merit such as the Buddha Watering Zone, Lotus Offering Zone, Meditation Room, Lantern Offering Zone, the Relic Worshipping Zone, etc.  There were staffs standing at each zone to explain the visitors, both Buddhists and other believers, to understand about these activities because the staffs wanted the participants to get merit and understand about Buddhism.

Father Michael De Cruz unveiled that he felt peaceful and fortunate on Vesak Day, he was happy and delighted to be there. He wanted to tell everyone that being there among the crowded visitors who were visiting the exhibition of the Lord Buddha’s biography was so good. This was because religions need the followers to reach their spirits. We could make the peace happen only if we reached our real cores and meditation was the way to reach it which was in everyone’s body.  The real inner core was the origin of peace.

Vesak Day in Singapore was the International event which many nationalities, races, and believers were interested to visit this event crowdedly everyday.  The visitors mentioned about it like this.

“This is the great exhibition and gives the information of the Lord Buddha clearly.  Visiting this event makes me happy and calm.  I want to meditate like this every day.  I tell many people to visit this exhibition because they will get peacefulness from the visiting.”

“We are glad to celebrate Vesak Day in Singapore. They arrange this event every good. It is the beautiful and pure Vesak Day celebration.  It’s really good that people can come to celebrate Vesak Day here.”

The sacred ceremonies led all minds to be calm

Vesak Day was arranged by the faith of Luang Phaw Dhammajayo’s over 245 Singaporean disciples.  Even though it was the short period, it impressed people to realize the importance of Vesak Day and understand the practice principle of Buddhism more and more.  It made many minds bright and happy.
