According to the 1997 statistics there were 353,800,000 Buddhists in the world and 151,816 in the UK. Please see the table diagram below for the breakdown according to continent. You will see there that the majority live in Asia, but on many of the other continents such as Australia, Buddhism is one of the fastest growing religions at a time when religion generally is in decline.![]()
