Allow husband to have a concubine

 

Questions from Audience:

My eldest sister can’t have a child.  So she allows her husband to have a concubine because they want to have a child.  Does she break the 3^rd precept*?  

 

Answer:

If your eldest sister willingly allows her husband to have a concubine, she doesn’t break the 3^rd precept.  But they have to make a good agreement and scope.  Even it doesn’t break the 3^rd precept but it may bring her husband to be greedy in sex which can make him further away from Nirvana.  If they have a child, they may be worry about their child.  So they have to make a decision carefully that they want to be greedy in sex or not.
