Questions from the audience:What has caused my mother to have the drunk and poor husband? And so do I. What had we done together in the previous lifetime which caused us to be family?
Answer:
The bad retributions from giving alcohol to the drunks, example giving alcohol as a gift, caused you to have the drunken father and husband. Your family is poor because of the miserliness and rarely making the donation.
The solution is you have to make and accumulate all kinds of merit – giving, keeping the five precepts and meditating – and make a wish that you want the members of your family to have the Right View, believe in the Triple Gems strongly and be able to keep the five precepts well.
