The Picked-Up Robes Offering Ceremony

 

 The Picked-Up Robes or the Forest Robes were the clothes left for the monks to pick up.  It is called in Thai “Pha-Pa.”  Normally, people will offer the Picked-Up Robes after the Kathina Offering Ceremony.

 

There are many kind of Picked-Up Robes Offering Ceremonies. “Pha-Pa-thaem-Kathin” or “Pha-Pa-Hang-Kathin” is the Ceremonies of Offering Kathina and Picked-Up Robes together.  Some people brought the picked-up robes and traveled by water, when they found some temples, they stopped and then offered the picked-up robes there.

The condition of offering the picked-up robes is the donors have to offer the picked-up robe to any monks without specifying.  They only focus their mind during the offering moment that they want to offer these robes and alms to any monks who need them, only this makes the offering ceremony completely.

The Picked-Up Robes Offering Ceremony can be held anytime
