There were many important people who created many things which have benefited human beings for a long time and we owe to them.

         Fleming found Penicillin.
         Madam Marie Curie found Radium which is used to cure cancers.
         Wright brothers invented the first airplane.
         Alan Turing invented the Turing machine which played a significant role in the creation of the modern computer.

Including the world class scientists such as Newton and Einstein because if they did not invent anything, we would not have the skyscrapers, fiber optic lines, engines, facilities, automobiles, washing machines, the electric blenders for making fruit juice, etc.

All of them invented many things which make our lives better. We need not to live in the caves, light the fire manually because their inventions make us comfortable and convenient.

However, even though we are more convenient, why the troubles in the circle of reincarnation are not decreasing and they still happen to us again and again.

If there is someone finding the way to free us from reincarnation, oldness, illness and death, so we will not trouble, will not be reborn, old, sick, and pass away anymore, how much we owe to him!

The Lord Buddha who discovered the Middle Way

For over 2,500 years, the Lord Buddha had found the way to free from all kinds of sufferings and many people at that time could follow him to reach Nirvana without using modern technology.

However, after the Lord Buddha passed away about 500 years, his discover – Dhammakaya Vijja – had been disappeared until there was a monk sacrificing his life and meditating until he rediscovered Dhammakaya Vijja. Later, he taught the human beings to understand the principle of freeing from troubles.

This monk had the strong intention that he would not go to Nirvana alone or go with some beings. But he had the great intention that he would help all beings in the Triple World, all realms and universes and he would be the last one to enter Nirvana.

This is his mightiness which has caused people believing and worshiping him and sacrificing their lives for him.

Casting the golden statue of Luang Pu in gold is the material worship which makes the practical worship happening continuously because the worship is a strategy to change one’s rude mind to be better enough to observe others’ virtues and apply in his daily life.

So, for someone who does not understand others’ virtues well, if he is familiar to worship the good people, he will finally understand and realize their virtues clearly especially during his bad times because when a human being is in trouble, he always struggles to free from his suffering by seeking the best refuge in his mind.

If he finds the statue of Luang Pu, made of the highest value material, he will be interested to study Luang Pu’s biography. He will believe in Luang Pu and want to follow Luang Pu’s conduct for freeing himself from suffering. The most important is casting the statue of Luang Pu in gold is one of the best announcements to the world to realize about Luang Pu’s virtues. They will be doubted and have many questions like why we cast it in gold. These questions give us the chance to tell them about Luang Pu’s biography and virtues and we can persuade them to practice Dhamma by following Luang Pu’s conduct.

When the time passing by, it is more difficult to find the gold and the gold will be more expensive. And when the next 1,000 years comes, they will have FAQ that why we believed in Luang Pu so much that we have casted him in gold weighing one metric ton. This question will interest them to find the answer that who Luang Pu was and how important Luang Pu was. When they research and appreciate Luang Pu’s great kindness, they will turn to practice Dhamma to find the middle way by following the Lord Buddha’s teaching like Luang Pu did.

The Seven Difficulties and the Coming Chance
Casting the golden statue of Luang Pu is the rare event happening among the 7 difficulties which are:
1.   There are a few people who want to cast the Buddha statues or the monk’s statue in gold because gold is expensive. So a lot of people prefer to cast the Buddha statue or the monk’s statue in bronze.
2.   If you have a little money, it is impossible for you to cast the big statue only by yourself.
3.   Even if you are very rich and able to cast it only by yourself, it is not as powerful as the union’s casting. If you did it only by yourself and then pass away, your golden Buddha statue will be difficult to keep safely. Most people will think that the statue is not the public property and they need not to look after and protect it.
4.   There are few people who are the beloved ones and able to collect enough gold to cast the statue successfully.
5.   It is really hard to find the Great Masters who are perfectly pure. Each Master must have the accumulated perfections enough to inspire people at that time to believe very strongly and want to cast him in gold or other high-value material.
6.   Those who want to cast Luang Pu in gold must have the merit associating with Luang Pu before. Even if they had never made merit with Luang Pu, they must have had other special merits from the previous lifetimes which inspire them to make more merit for themselves. If the casting finishes but we just believe or know about this news and want to cast the statue as well, it is impossible to recast the statue again.

Now, the best chance is coming. You can decide and should do it by yourself that you either want to do it or not. Think it carefully that how many times in your life or next lifetimes you will have to make the great merit like this.

The previous casting

The Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh (Dhammajayo Bhikkhu) and his disciples have built and restored the buildings associating with Luang Pu and we have a plan to invite the golden statues of Luang Pu to establish at the following six places:

1. Luang Pu’s birthplace – Song Phi Nong district in Suphan Buri province. We built the monument which the biography and the golden statue of Luang Pu are established there.

2. Luang Pu’s ordination temple – Song Phi Nong Temple in Suphan Buri province. He had been ordained as a monk when he was 22 years old at this temple and had the monastic name “Chandasaro” and lived in this temple for one year.

3. Luang Pu’s rediscovery place – Bot Bon Temple in Bangkuvien district, Nonthaburi province. Luang Pu had found how to attain Dhammakaya and brought it back to the world. We have restored the ancient main Buddhist chapel where Luang Pu had attained Dhammakaya and built more building to make it durable.

4. Luang Pu’s the first teaching place – Bang Pla Temple in Banglen district, Nakhon Pathom province. Luang Pu went to teach Dhammakaya Meditation in the first time and there were 3 monks and 4 laypeople attaining Dhammakaya.

5. Luang Pu’s dissemination place – Pak Nam Bhasi Charoen Temple in Bangkok. Luang Pu taught how to meditate for attaining Dhammakaya to the monks, novices and laypeople. Before he passed away, he had commanded his disciples not to cremate his dead body and keep it there.

So we would like to invite you to cast the 6th golden statue of Luang Pu together and make it successfully within this Kathina Robe Offering period. When there is someone coming to pay respect to this statue, he will have the inspiration to practice Dhamma following by Luang Pu’s conduct and will attain Dhamma like Luang Pu as well. This attaining will benefit his life very much from that time on.

The casting ceremony

It will also be another special merit in donors’ lives - the donors who dedicate themselves for Luang Pu and cast the golden statue of Luang Pu. The statue will be the center of disciples’ minds. When our gold becomes a part of the golden statue, our minds and Luang Pu’s mind become as one, the good things will happen to us incredibly. Don’t miss this big merit because it will yield fruit to you until reaching Nirvana.
