The Morning Alms Round to 12,700 Monks
The Provincial Monk Dean of Suphanburi was the monastic president of the ceremony of offering the morning alms round to 12,700 monks. The merit from this ceremony would affect the country to be better and the alms from this ceremony will be sent to help the flood victims.
The ceremony took place at Phueng Pha Field
In the morning of October 10th, 2011 at Phueng Pha Field in Song Phi Nong district, Suphanburi province, the Most Ven. Phrathepsuvanmoli, the Provincial Monk Dean of Suphanburi, was the monastic president of the ceremony of offering the morning alms round to 12,700 monks. The staffs invited the monks from 26 provinces to participate in the ceremony and will bring alms from this ceremony to help the victims in many flood areas. It kept the good Buddhist tradition as well. Mr. Somchai Lertpongpakorn, the vice governor of Suphanburi province, participated in this ceremony. It is the third time of the morning alms round ceremony in this province which thousands of monks joined.

This ceremony is a part of the Morning Alms Round to 1,000,000 Monks in 77 provinces project initiated by the Most Ven. Phrarajbhavanavisudh (Dhammajayo Bhikkhu), the abbot of Dhammakaya Temple and the president of Dhammakaya Foundation. The morning alms round were held 367 total times and 760,103 monks and novices joined. Dhammakaya Foundation sent the relief packages containing rice, dried food, drinking water, etc. from this project to help the flood victims in 26 provinces, over 60,000 households.
