New World Record set by the Dhammakaya Foundation
On Sunday October 18, 2015 the Guinness World Records presented a certificate to the Dhammakaya Foundation for setting the new record for ‘The longest journey walking on flower petals, over 485.0 kilometers (301.36 miles), achieved by 1,130 Buddhist monks between the 2nd and 31st of January 2015, on the Fourth Dhammachai Dhutanga pilgrimage, to welcome the new year of 2015 in Thailand’. Over a million people participated in the sprinkling of flower petals to welcome the Dhutanga monks along the path.
