The Dhammakaya Vijja Master Day is the day to remind us of the Most Ven. Phramongkolthepmuni (Sod Chandasaro)’s kindness as he sacrificed his life in meditation for the truth of life. The truth of life or the real Dhamma, which the Lord Buddha had enlightened on Vesak Day, was Dhammakaya Vijja. Unfortunately, this Vijja had been lost for about 2,000 years after the Lord Buddha’s death and left only the word “Dhammakaya” in the Pali Canon. Later, on the full moon night of the tenth lunar month, the Most Ven. Phramongkolthepmuni meditated until he attained Dhamma on that night. Thus, the anniversary day this year, which is on Monday September 12th, 2011, Dhammakaya Temple and Luang Phu’s disciples around the world are going to arrange the ceremonies to worship the Master of Dhammakaya Vijja like we do it every year.

The ceremonies on this year are the Worship Ceremony to the Master of Dhammakaya Vijja, and the Ceremony of attaching the thin gold sheet to the Gold Statue of Phramongkolthepmuni (Sod Chandasaro) who rediscovered Dhammakaya Vijja and the Imperial Saffron Robes Offering Ceremony.

Besides rediscovering Dhammakaya Vijja, Luang Phu kindly taught this Vijja to others. Thus, knowing the word “Dhammakaya” and the way to attain our Inner Dhammakaya and the real goal of life although we are not good at meditation enough to know, we owe to Luang Phu’s kindness very much.

When Luang Phu meditated, he wagered his life to rediscover Dhammakaya Vijja back for us. When Luang Phu taught his disciples, he had set the rules and regulations step by step. Since the act of meditating until one attains Inner Dhammakaya was difficult, he taught his disciples again and again without being bored or tired. When someone could attain Dhamma, he himself would be the witness of Buddhism as well.
