On September 20, 2024, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was officially signed between the Oceania Dhammaduta Development Center (ODDC) and the Bali Meditation Center (YBMC), marking a significant step towards expanding Buddhist teachings and Dhammakaya meditation practices across Oceania, Bali, and the world.

The MoU signing ceremony was graciously presided over by Phra Vitesdhammaporn (Bandit Vorapanyo), the President of the Union of Thai Dhammaduta Monks in Indonesia and Africa. Representing the two signing parties were Phra Maha Suttham Suratano Pali IX, Ph.D., Vice President of the Union of Thai Dhammaduta Monks in Oceania (UTO), and Mr. Suwanto Tjung, the representative of the Bali Meditation Center.

 

The occasion was witnessed by several esteemed senior monks who chanted blessings, along with sponsors and officials who served as witnesses to this landmark collaboration, which promises to advance Buddhist teachings together.

The collaboration between Oceania and the Bali Meditation Center has been taking shape since 2023, with the Oceania branch developing personnel for overseas missions. This training, conducted at Wat Phra Dhammakaya, includes courses such as basic English, leading meditation and blessings in English, organizing auspicious and non-auspicious ceremonies, media production, altar decoration for special offerings, flower arrangement, and fabric draping.

Following their training, personnel gained practical experience at international meditation centers, including the Pai International Meditation Center and the Bali Meditation Center.
Oceania has continuously sent senior monks to the Bali Meditation Center to enhance their experience by assisting in meditation classes for local residents, as the Bali Center offers meditation classes year-round.

This MoU between the Oceania Dhammaduta Development Center and the Bali Meditation Center represents a more robust and formalized collaboration, with the shared mission of spreading Dhammakaya Buddhist teachings globally.
