The WBSY Sangha Unity Declaration was made by young monastic delegates from over thirty countries during the fourth conference. Taking place at Wat Phra Pathom Chedi on December 14, 2007, the declaration emphasizes their commitment to being true monks dedicated to purifying themselves and following the Lord Buddha's teachings. Key principles outlined include refraining from insults and harm, maintaining restraint, practicing moderation in eating, and endeavoring for a unified Sangha. The declaration acknowledges the 2550 Buddha Jayanti, dedicated to the health of Thailand's King Bhumibol Adulyadej on his 80th birthday, and highlights the need for harmony within the Sangha as expressed in the Buddha's words 'Sukha sanghassa samaggi'. This unity is likened to the singularity of the sun in the sky, reinforcing the value of oneness in their practice.
