RUGBY hero Jonny Wilkinson has kicked his old life into touch and become a Buddhist.
He says he no longer cares about fame and fortune and is not afraid of failure or death.
Now all he wants to see is the “happiness of others”. And he has even let his close-cropped blond haircut grow into a curly mop to “represent the new me”.
Wilko, 29, became an England legend with his extra-time drop goal that beat Australia in the World Cup Final in 2003. Afterwards he struggled with a series of injuries before discovering the teachings of Buddha.
The Newcastle Falcons fly-half said: “My motivation today has nothing to do with status, money or ego. Before, I wanted to be the best in the world and I would watch other players to see how I measured up. Now, when I do something great on the rugby pitch, it is not about being better than others but about exploring my talent.
