เราทราบกันดีแล้วว่า ทุกคนต้องตาย เพราะความตายเป็นสิ่งที่หลีกเลี่ยงได้ยาก แต่อย่างไรก็ตามในคัมภีร์พุทธศาสน์พระพุทธองค์ได้ตรัสอุบายในการหลีกเลี่ยงจากความตายบางประเภทหรือยืดอายุให้ยืนยาวไว้ดังนี้
Right Action is the practice of abstaining from killing, stealing and adultery
Intoxicants: In general this means allowing alcohol and drugs being absorbed into the body through drinking, inhaling, insertion, spraying, smoking, and injection
means: being ashamed of unwholesomeness. Even if others don’t see what we are doing, but we bear still witness to our own unwholesome deeds it will cause us to be discontent
“Before we dress up beautifully, we need to shower off all the dirt. So as before we purify the mind for a higher virtue, we need to abstain from all kinds of unwholesomeness
