There are various reasons that cause our minds to be clouded. There are both internal and external factors. Externally, it is due to both people and environmental surroundings. Internally, cloudedness of the mind is derived from our own values concerning life. Our own values might be something we are aware of but on a deeper technical level in the mind, negative core values derive from defilements such as greed, anger, and delusion which obscure the innate wisdom of the mind.
