Right Concentration — Leads to Understanding and Knowledge Retention Consciousness that is still and concentration are so closely related that they can be considered to be one and the same. Students with very good concentration tend to score higher grades in school because they understand and retain the content of the lessons more precisely. Teachers who encourage and guide students to practice meditation for five to ten minutes before every class each day will attain better comprehension and knowledge ratings in their pupils. The students will benefit greatly and develop respect for the importance of meditation and how it enhances the process of learning. They will also develop, through meditation, the right view in their approach to their academic and moral education. All of the 84,000 Teachings of the Buddha are contained in the Noble Eightfold Path Principles of Practice: Try to practice all of the eight. Try to practice all eight at the same time. Each part of the Eightfold Path should be practiced fully, otherwise the deficit could be transferred to the other seven, and thus bad habits could not properly be corrected.
