At the headquarters of the Dhammakaya Foundation there is also, a Medical Centre Service open daily from 0900-1700H, providing primary medical and dental care to staff and the general public free of charge. Blood Donation One of the main humanitarian activities of Dhammakaya Foundation is the donation of blood through the Thai Red Cross Association. The Dhammakaya Foundation received a prize from H.H. the Supreme Patriarch in 1994 for its yearly total of more than 200,000 c.c. of donated blood. Up to the present, the total amount of donated blood is about 5,000,000 cc. Helping for destitute children The Dhammakaya Foundation also provides helps for children in need -- especially those who live in adjacent areas -- through the donation of food and clothing. The group will also receive training in meditation and ethics. General Assistance In addition to the mobile task forces to help those who face natural disaster such as floods and storms, the Dhammakaya Foundation supported several public sectors and social activities including: * the provision of a bus shelter to the Khlong Luang District Office; * the provision of a wayside Police station; * the provision of requisites for inmates of the Patumthani Special Correction Prison; * the provision of 800 bicycles to students and the population in the five southern border provinces; * the provision of office and computer supplies to Patumthani Provincial Office; * the provision of shelter and meals for rural students and teachers attending the 1998 ASEAN Games; * the provision of food, shelter and transportation for approx. 1,000 handicapped spectators of the 1998 FESPIC Games."
