The Most Venerable Phra Dhammakittivong, a respected scholar and Abbot of Wat Raja-Orosaram, led the Buddhist monastic community in a memorial service attended by dignitaries including H.E. Suchon Chaleekreua, Chairman of the Thai Senate. H.E. Phokin Polkut, Minister of the Interior, oversaw the ceremony, joined by senators, parliament members, military officials, the provincial governor of Phuket, and civil service leaders. The Most Venerable Phra Dhammakittivong, a scholar of the Royal Academy and the Abbot of Wat Raja-Orosaram, Bangkok, agreed to lead the Buddhist monastic community for the memorial service. The president of the lay congregation was H.E. Suchon Chaleekreua; Chairman of the Thai Senate. President of the memorial ceremony itself was H.E. Phokin Polkut, the Minister of the Interior as well as all distinguished guests such as the senators and members of parliament, the Ministry of the Interior, Assistant Major General of the Thai Army, the provincial governor of Phuket, senior members of the civil service and leaders of many private organizations. All these are groups of Thai people who share concern for the families of those who lost their lives in the tragedy.
