YUWA CAMP MEDITATION HOME : หน้า 9/71 Exploring the Yuwakalanayamittra training program, its inception, and the establishment of Apinya School for Buddhist novices.
The Yuwakalanayamittra training program has significantly influenced children's lives since its inception. In 1985, activities like music composing and public speaking prepared them for spiritual leadership. By 1995, the program evolved under Phrarajbhavanavisudh with former trainees as instructors. The creation of the Apinya School marked a pivotal moment in educating male and female novices. A camp held in Oct 1995 saw 40 children engaging in Dhammakaya meditation and enjoyable activities, solidifying their commitment to Buddhist teachings and future instructor roles, thus enhancing Yuwakalanayamittra into a transformative platform for youth.

activities such as music composing for the 1985 New Year celebration, and exercises on public speaking, advocacy and fundraising for Kathina or robe offerings thus constituted their daily routine. Some of these children, after graduation from university, were so inspired that they resolved to ordain into Buddhist priesthood.
In the beginning of 1995, Phrarajbhavanavisudh decided to review the Yuwakalayanamittra training. This time he assigned Buddhist priests who were former yuwakalanayamittra trainees to be instructors for the training. Again, the activity met with good success. Children who participated took a vow to devote the rest of their life to Dhammakaya learning and teaching as Buddhist priests. As a consequence, the Apinya School was established to serve their needs, thus giving birth to the first group of male and female novices of the world. At the same time, the yuwakalanayamittra training continued.
At the end of 1995, a Yuwakalanayamittra camp was held during 13-27 October 1995 at Doi Suthep National Park. This time it had 40 children participants and 8 trainers who were Buddhist priests from Buddhist Art Division. These training priest instructors were authorized by Phrarajbhavanavisudh to do the job on his behalf and their work was assisted by 9 camp mentors; 5 were female congregation members and 4 were university students working on a voluntary basis. The camp goal was to develop children into committed students of the high level of Dhammakaya meditation and also future Dhammakaya instructors to spread Vajja Dhammakaya. The atmosphere was filled with blessedness and serenity caused by many hours of meditation and also great fun from a wide array of creative and recreational activities arranged for children. Yuwakalanayamittra training was in this way transformed into YUWA CAMP.
