way towards Nirvana because she had already attained Dhammakāya. The younger sister said she suddenly felt very inspired by Buddhism — because in spite of her sister’s being a strict Muslim, that same sister had changed her religion beyond recognition within such a short space of time. The younger sister practised meditation regularly from that day on and within a month was also able to attain Dhammakāya. Her mother followed suit and changed her religion to Buddhism, while culturally still remaining within the Islamic community. Luang Phaw always maintained that those meditators who helped heal others should always make sure that they themselves were pure. Luang Phaw was called upon to heal layfolk so often, that in later years he made it known that the sick no longer had to come for audience in person. All they had to do was to send him a letter or leave a note in a box for that purpose located in front of his kuti, stating their name, time and date of birth, and the nature of the illness. That was enough. Long distance healing by mind continued to yield miraculous results in the case of the terminally ill. Even when he was aged, he would still give great importance to providing for the guests to his temple saying, “If I don’t help them — then who will?
