cause only the adepts of Vijiā Dhammakāya could work as a team to plumb the subtle recesses of the human psyche. Shortly after the inception of the meditation workshop a capable disciple of Kuhn Yay Thongsuk named ‘Chandra’ was introduced to Luang Phaw. Luang Phaw recognized in her an innate aptitude for meditation and greeted her with the words,"What kept you so long?" Without having to pass the usual examinations of prowess in Dhamma practice, Luang Phaw sent her straight into the meditation workshop. Once she had familiarized herself with the unfamiliar language and protocol inside the workshop, Luang Phaw elected her as head of the night shift. In the meditation workshop, Vijiā Dhammakāya was the main focus. In the initial stages this meant an understanding of the knowledge taught by Lord Buddha, namely, the Threefold Knowledge, Eightfold Supra-normal Knowledge and the Sixfold Super-knowledge. Once adept in these forms of knowledge they would apply that knowledge to free all beings from Samsara. The perpetual meditation schedule was unprecedented in that it allowed the wisdom of Dhammakāya to be verified again and again. On three occasions Luang Phaw employed the spiritual power of those in the meditation team to obtain a huge and ancient crystal ball from the bowels of the earth. The first time in the period 1935-6, he detected, through the insight of Vijiā Dhammakāya, the presence of a crystal ball the size of a durian, deep beneath the ‘white’ building in the temple.
