VISITORS FROM SINGAPORE CELEBRATED
NEW YEAR 1989 AT WAT PRA DHAMMAKĀYA
After a few days of meditation,
my mind is clear and fresh upon waking
in the morning for the first time in
my life. At home I was always reluctant
to wake and still sleepy!
Well, previously, I found it hard
to sit cross-legged in the half-lotus
position but now it's something I can
do!
I think unless we sit properly
we can't meditate!”
Meditation Brings Peace
of Mind
After a long period of hard work,
our bodies need a little relaxation;
and our mind does too. The best way
to relax our mind is to keep it still at
the centre of our bodies which is the
so-called 'meditation' (Dhammakāya
technique). So Mr. Chang has been
very much satisfied with this meditating
experiences he has gained from his
stay at Wat Phra Dhammakāya. He
said,
"In Singapore, I was sometimes
so busy. So I have no peace of mind.
When I stay here, chanting, meditation,
listening to lectures on Dhamma, and
radiate loving-kindness every day,
it brings me Peace of mind. I am very
happy here, really! I will go on medita-
ting when I return home. And I hope
to return to Wat Phra Dhammakāya

at every opportunity in coming year"
Deeply Impressed by the
Abbot
.
After a single meeting with Ven.
Dhammajayo Bhikkha, Mr. Chang
was deeply impressed by him. He said,
"I was struck by the abbol---
he seemed to shine with the results of
a very high level of meditation and
education. I think it was a pity we
could not speak directly to him in a
shared language. I would have liked
to come closer to understanding Luang
Phor's words."
Merit-Making Results in
Happiness and Success
As the leader of the visitors,
Quinine said that all of her companions
were very much inpressed the New
Year ceremony at Wat Phra Dham-
makaya. Fortunately, this time she
learned a lot from Ven.Mettānando
Bhikkhu. She has become certain that
through meditation we can find deli-
verance and that Merit-making results
in happiness and success. She asserted,
"I think that Merit-making helps
me so much. My career has become
straightforward you know --- I have
been here, three times during eleven
months. It cost a lot each time. But
it seemed no problem with money---
you know--- the money has just come.
Hopefully, I will come back on
Maghapūja Day with a group of my
friends and students."
Ven. Dhammajayo Bhikkhu,
the Abbot of Wat Phra Dhammakāya
is highly compassionate. He has devoted
his life to Buddhism, especially, Dham-
makaya Meditation, to help all humao
beings understand the World and Life
as they really are by means of Dhamma
practice, especially, Right Concentra-
tion. This understanding will encourage
them to practise so as to be free from
suffering and simultaneously, the
Dhamma practice will result in World
Peace. Consequently, Wat Phra Dham-
makāya has been designated as being
the Land of Peace, serenity, loving-
kindness, compassion and generousity;
being open to people from all walks
of life to practise Dhamma.
In order to achieve the goal of
the Wat (temple) a large expanse of
land is being developed to serve the
needs of the monks and lay people;
not only in the country but for those
all over the world. Complete, it will
be the so-called Dhammakāya World.
Welcome to Dhammakaya World!
