มากที่ได้รู้ว่า หลวงพ่อเป็นผู้ที่เลือกสรรชื่อนี้ให้ผมเอง และ ท่านยังเป็นผู้เลือกผมให้เป็นผู้ที่จะไปพูดแทนท่านในซีกโลก ทางตะวันตก และเป็นเครื่องมือของท่านในการสร้างสันติ สุขให้เกิดขึ้น ผมจะมุ่งมั่นทำงานให้บรรลุเป้าหมายนี้ด้วย ชีวิตจิตใจและสรรพกำลังทั้งหมดของผม ผมมีความรู้สึกที่ดี มากๆ ที่ได้รับชื่อนี้มา มันยากที่จะอธิบาย เพราะมันเป็นสิ่ง ที่จะต้องประสบด้วยตนเอง แต่สามารถบอกได้ว่า มัน เป็นความรู้สึกที่งดงามมาก that goal with all my heart, with all my mind and with all of my strength. I would like to ask when you represent the Dhammakaya Foundation in the United Nations, do you have วารสาร : อยากทราบว่า เมื่อคุณไปเป็นตัวแทนของมูลนิธิ | any ideas about how to approach inner peace ธรรมกายในสหประชาชาติ คุณมีความคิดเกี่ยวกับการ เข้าถึงสันติสุขภายในได้อย่างไร หรืออะไรจะเป็นสิ่งนำ สันติภาพมาสู่โลกใบนี้ ? โมว์สัน : คุณรู้ไหม ในอดีต ประเทศใหญ่ๆ ทั้งหลายคิด ว่า สันติภาพสามารถสร้างขึ้นมาได้ด้วยการใช้ยุทธวิธีทาง ทหารและอาวุธ เขาเรียกวิธีการนี้ว่า เป็นการยับยั้ง อย่างที่ ผมได้บอกคุณก่อนหน้านี้ว่า ผมเคยเป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้าน อาวุธนิวเคลียร์ขององค์การนาโต้ ในประเทศเยอรมัน ตะวันตกมาก่อน หน้าที่ของผมในขณะนั้นก็คือ ทำให้ ประเทศรัสเซียรู้สึกหวาดกลัว เพื่อว่า รัสเซียจะได้ไม่กล้า รุกเข้าเยอรมันตะวันตก หรือส่วนใดส่วนหนึ่งของประเทศ ทางยุโรปตะวันตก อเมริกาได้รักษากองกำลังอาวุธ นิวเคลียร์จำนวนมากไว้ในยุโรป และตอนนั้นผมก็เป็นส่วน หนึ่งของกองกำลังทางด้านอาวุธนิวเคลียร์นั้น ปัจจุบันนี้ผม ได้ตระหนักชัดแล้วว่า อาวุธต่างๆ กองทัพและทหาร ไม่ใช่ เป็นคำตอบของการสร้างสันติภาพ หนึ่งในลูกชายฝาแฝด ของผมได้บอกกับผมตอนที่เขาอายุ 4 ขวบในปี ค.ศ. ๑๙๙๑ ในกรุงเทพฯ ว่า “ความรัก ครับพ่อ ที่จะสร้างสันติสุขได้ or what can bring peace to this world ? Mr.Mawson : You know in the past, great nations thought that peace could be won by strategic placement of troops and weapons. It was called the deterrent. As I mentioned to you earlier, I was a nuclear weapon specialist in the NATO forces in Western Germany. My work at that time was, in a sense, to make the Russians afraid, so they wouldn't invade Western Germany or any of the other countries in the West. The Americans kept a very big nuclear force in Europe and I was part of that nuclear force. Today I realize that weapons, armies and soldiers are not the answer.
