Alan : Could you tell me about the fruit of taking life of a living being? Porn : According to the Scriptures, the fruit of killing can take various forms such as rebirth in hell, living a shortened life as a human being, separation from loved ones, fear and paranoia, and so on. The weight of kamma is modified by these five condi- tions : persistent and repeated action, action done with great intention, action done without sorrow, action done towards persons with extraordinary qualities such as the Buddha and the arahants, action done towards persons who have been of benefit to us such as our parents and teachers. Alan : I see. The fruit of killing a man would be greater than an animal. Porn : Yes, of course. A human - killer will undoubtedly be reborn in hell. For an animal - killer, if his or her kamma is not weighty enough to result in rebirth in hell, it will result in unhealthy or short ened life as a human being. It is noticeable that the effect is similar to the cause. Alan : And what about the fruit of stealing and sexual misconduct? Porn : Well, stealing is generally motivated by greed or desire. This action, stated in several discourses, will lead to rebirth as a hungry ghost. If it is not weighty enough to result as that, it will result in poverty as a human being. Porn : Yes, it encourages us to refrain from unwhole some actions and try to do wholesome actions. ชาวพุทธที่ดีจึงมีศรัทธามั่นและปฏิบัติตามคำสอนที่พระ พุทธองค์ตรัสเสมอ แอลัน : ช่วยบอกหน่อยได้ไหมครับ ว่าผลกรรมของการฆ่าสัตว์ ตัดชีวิตคืออะไร พร : ตามที่ปรากฏในพระไตรปิฏก ผลของการฆ่าสัตว์ตัดชีวิต มีอยู่หลายรูปแบบ เช่น เป็นคนอายุสั้น ต้องพลัดพราก จากผู้เป็นที่รัก ตกอยู่ในความกลัว มีอาการจิตประสาท และอื่นๆ น้ำหนักของกรรมนั้นขึ้นอยู่กับเงื่อนไข ๕ ประการ คือ : กรรมทำซ้ำซาก กรรมทำโดยเจตนา แรงกล้า ทำโดยปราศจากความเสียใจ ทำต่อบุคคลที่ มีคุณสมบัติเหนือมนุษย์ทั่วไป เช่น พระพุทธเจ้าและ พระอรหันต์ และกรรมที่ทำต่อบุคคลผู้มีพระคุณ เช่น มารดา บิดา และครูอาจารย์ แอลัน : ผมเข้าใจครับ การฆ่ามนุษย์คงจะมีผลกรรมมากกว่า การฆ่าสัตว์ดิรัจฉาน พร : แน่นอนค่ะ ไม่ต้องสงสัยหรอกค่ะ ฆาตกรที่ฆ่าคนต้อง ตกนรกแน่ ส่วนพวกฆ่าสัตว์ดิรัจฉาน ถ้ากรรมไม่หนัก ถึงขั้นตกนรก ก็จะไปเกิดเป็นคนขี้โรค หรือชีวิตสั้น มี ที่น่าสังเกตว่า ผลจะเหมือนกับเหตุ (ของกรรม) แอลัน : การลักขโมย และการประพฤติผิดทางเพศละครับ มี วิบากอย่างไร พร : โดยทั่วไป การลักขโมยมักเกิดจากความโลภ มีกล่าวไว้ ในหลายพระสูตรว่า กรรมนี้จะส่งผลให้ไปเกิดเป็นเปรต แต่ถ้ากรรมยังไม่หนักพอจะส่งผลถึงขั้นนั้น ก็จะส่งผล ให้ไปเกิดเป็นคนยากจน ส่วนวิบากของการประพฤติ ผิดทางเพศนั้น อย่างน้อยที่สุด ก็จะทำให้ประสบกับ การมีชีวิตแต่งงานที่โศกเศร้า หรือไม่มีความสุข แอลัน : คนส่วนมากชอบโกหก วิบากกรรมของการโกหกนี่เป็น อย่างไรบ้างครับ พร : ผลกรรมของการโกหกนี้ ก็ขึ้นอยู่กับเงื่อนไข ๕ ประการ ที่ได้กล่าวมาแล้ว อย่างไรก็ตาม มีพุทธพจน์อยู่บทหนึ่ง ว่า “อภูตวาที นิรยัง อุเปติ - คนพูดไม่จริงย่อมเข้าถึง นรก” แอลัน : การเข้าใจเรื่องกฎแห่งกรรมนี้มีประโยชน์มากทีเดียวนะครับ : ใช่ค่ะ มันช่วยกระตุ้นเตือนเราให้รู้จักเลี่ยง อกุศลกรรม และพยายามสร้างแต่กุศลกรรม พร กัลยาณมิตร พฤศจิกายน ๒๕๕๒ ๑๑๗
