I was born and brought up in Trang Province. When I attended the Faculty of Education at Chulalongkorn University, I was lost in the colorful lights of the city. Surrounded by badly behaved friends, I started drinking and smoking, growing long hair and fooling around idly. I never had the slighest idea of morality or Dhamma. My academic performance started falling. My wholesomeness was being extinguished. An older person at the faculty, Mr. Paiboon Seubsai, tried to persuade me to take the Dhammadāyāda Training Courses but I refused. I was not at all interested at the beginning. However, he kept insisting all the time. So I finally surrendered to his good will. I underwent the Dhammadāyāda Training Courses in 1983. I was reborn, then, having undergone the disciplinary training and receiving good counseling from the monk teachers. I realized the right path of life, what should be done and should be abstained from. My life had been saved from destruction owing to the Dhammadāyāda Training Courses. I pledged to devote my life to the dissemination of Buddhism and to the development of our society. Kittipong Trangkathanasin BA. (Hon.) Education - 1984 Chulalongkorn University I was very impressed when I received the Trai robes-monk's yellow robes from my parents at the Mass Ordination Ceremony. I was so excited that my heart the queue stopped and I stood in front of them. However, I caught the feeling of happiness, the greatest beat very fast when of all happiness. "Mong"-When the sound of the bell faded, I knelt down to pay respect to my parents and received the yellow robes from them. My tears fell, at that moment, onto those robes. I wanted to stop the world from turning; however, the best I can do is to remember those precious moments and keep reminding myself of that day.
