"Dhammadāyāda training
is the beginning of changes.
Changes from comfortable habits
like living in a luxurious house,
surrounded by beloved ones, to
dwelling under the Klod in the
midst of the rice field with no
other shelter. Moreover, there is
no sound of heavy traffic, no
interference from others, only
quietness. There are no colorful
clothes because we only wear
white. There is also no sight or
sound of dissent. Dinner is not
served because Dhammadāyāda
must observe 8 moral precepts.
Our confused daily activities
were left behind. Our only duty
is to practise mindfulness with
diligence."

But How Many People
Realize the Great
Importance of Their
Parents?
When I attended the
Dhammadāyāda Training
Courses, I had to observe 8
moral precepts, sleep under a
Klod-an umbrella covered with a
mosquito net, and seriously
practise mindfulness for almost 2
months. One day, the Venerable
Dattajivo Bhikkhu,
Dhammadāyādas' supervisor,
preached on the great importance
of our parents and how to
correctly express one's gratitude.
I suddenly missed my mother
deeply.
As soon as I reached home,
after the training, I looked
around for my mother but could
not find her. I went upstairs,
saw her standing near the
window. I rushed to her and
prostrated myself at her feet
which I had never done before.
After a little while, my mother
slowly helped me up by both
hands. Her face bore the
happiest expression with tears of
joy in her eyes. Oh! there is no
greater love than parents' love
for their child.
