(ผมเห็นว่าถ้าเราคอยระลึกนึกถึงหลักแห่งความเท่า เทียมกัน และการคำนึงถึงอกเขาอกเรา เราก็จะไม่ ปลิดชีวิตสัตว์ทั้งหลาย ไม่ขโมยหรือฉ้อโกง และไม่ ประพฤติผิดประเวณี) commit (v) = การทํา, ประพฤติ B: You're clear about Right Livelihood, aren't you? (คุณเข้าใจเรื่องสัมมาอาชีวะดีแล้ว ใช่ไหมครับ) A: Yes. Right Livellhood means that one should abstain from making one's living by a profession that brings horm to others. (ครับ สัมมาอาชีวะ หมายความว่าเราพึงหลีกเลี่ยง จากการประกอบอาชีพซึ่งนำอันตรายมาสู่ผู้อื่น) to make a living = ประกอบอาชีพ, เลี้ยงชีพ อาชีพ profession (n) = harm (n) - อันตราย And the five kinds of livelihood that are discouraged for Buddhists are trading in animals for slaughter, dealing in slaves, er.... dealing In weapons, er.... dealing in poison and dealing In.....er.... (อาชีพต้องห้าม ๕ ชนิด สำหรับชาวพุทธก็คือ การ ค้าสัตว์เพื่อนำไปฆ่า, การค้าทาสด้ามนุษย์, การค้าอาวุธ การค้ายาพิษ และการค้า...เอ้อ....) discourage (v) = ห้ามปราม be discouraged = ถูกห้ามปราม slaughter = ฆ่า (อย่างทารุณ) deal in = ค้าขาย = stove (n) - ทาส (มนุษย์) weapon (n) = อาวุธ poison - ยาพิษ B: Intoxicants...deal in Intoxicants. (สิ่งเสพติด....การค้าสิ่งเสพติด) A: Yes... Yes, that's drugs and alcoholic drinks. (ใช่แล้วครับ....ใช่แล้วครับ นั่นคือยาเสพติด และ น้ำเมา) B: Actually, all these five trades contribute to the Insecurity, to the suffering and discard in society. (อันที่จริง อาชีพทั้ง ๕ นี้ ล้วนเป็นเหตุให้เกิด ความไม่มั่นคงปลอดภัย, ความทุกข์และความบาด หมางกันในสังคม) contribute (v) = เป็นเหตุให้เกิด discard (n) - ความบาดหมาง : it is sold that the practice of morality creates within the individual on inner sense of peace, of stability, of security, of strength and of self-confidence. (ท่านกล่าวกันว่าการรักษาศีลเป็นการสร้างความ สงบ ความมั่นคงไม่หวั่นไหว ความรู้สึกปลอดภัย พลังและความเชื่อมั่นตัวเองให้เกิดขึ้นในตัวบุคคล) And with inner peace, one can develop meditation that leads to the achievement of wisdom. (และด้วยความสงบภายในนี้เองบุคคลย่อมสามารถ พัฒนาให้เกิดสมาธิอันเป็นทางไปสู่ปัญญา) This is why the Lord Buddha sald, "A wise mon should observe the low of Morality." (ด้วยเหตุนี้พระสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้าจึงตรัสว่า “ปราชญ์ พึงรักษาศีล”) a wise man = ปราชญ์ Observe - ปฏิบัติ, รักษา (ศีล) A: Oh, I wish I were a wise mani (โอ, ผมก็อยากเป็นปราชญ์เหมือนกัน!)
