the Twelve Spheres of Knowing [āyatana], the Eighteen Elements [dhātu], the Twenty-Two Faculties [indriya], the Four Noble Truths [ariyasacca] and the Twelve Links of Dependent Origination [pāṭiccasamuppāda]. With no books on her shelves, all Khun Yay's knowledge arose from seeing these things for herself. The more she practised, the more her knowledge extended. The more she researched, the more she saw. She discovered many aspects of the knowledge beyond the miraculous. Some of the things she learned can never be revealed until the time is appropriate. Eventually, without reading a single word, Khun Yay took her place in the ranks as a sage of high Dhamma attainment.
