to build the new temple. The book brought together the testimonies and experiences of various eminent disciples of the Dhammakaya Tradition telling the reason why the temple had to be built. Khun Yay couldn't write down her own story to go in the book, so she told her story to others who wrote it down for her. It turned out to be a book which inspired many of its readers to come forth and help with the work of building the temple. The Dhammaprasit group headed by Khun Yay began establishing the temple after making the vow: "We will devote all our flesh and blood, body and mind, intelligence and wealth in homage to the Lord Buddha in order to set up a meditation centre following the Way of Dhammakāya." The temple was established with a ground-breaking ceremony on Māgha Püjä Day, the twentieth of February 1970. Before starting on the work of building the temple, Khun Yay called a meeting of everyone involved in order to avert any problems likely to crop up in their work. She said that although the temple was large and would take a long time to complete, she insisted that it be built to the highest standards. She predicted that personal conflict would be sure to rear its ugly head as they worked together on the temple and that anyone who knew themselves to be easily provoked by conflict could remove themselves immediately to the back of the crowd.
