In addition, from 1964 onwards, Khun Yay and the student started to meditate with the resolve that all like minded pursuers of perfection join the Dhammasarit group, to help shoulder the work of spreading the Knowledge of Dhammakāya far and wide. Soon, many more young students showed up at Dhammasarit House. The ceremony for offering sustenance was taken very seriously and was attended by more and more young students. On the first Sunday of each month, this ceremony was performed by the whole congregation of Dhammasarit House guided by Khun Yay for the blessing of all people on Earth. Dhammaprasit House became virtually full of people of all ages and all walks of life. The group was fascinated by the unassuming, humble life of Khun Yay. The hut was small, but every square inch of it was spotlessly clean. Young students lingered behind after the offering of food to the Buddha on Sunday and Khun Yay spent many hours, on many days explaining to them the virtues of practicing Buddhism and leading a life of celibacy. This was a real inspiration for all of them. She was able to give straightforward answers to all the questions they raised. In 1966 the student was introduced to Khun Phadet Pongsawat who at that time wore a plaid lumberjack shirt and jeans and had an intimidating disposition, a voice loud enough to stop a stampeding buffalo herd in its tracks and the build of a boxer. He had the personal motto ‘the thoroughbred never gets fat’. 91
