Dh.51 After Khun Yay Thongsuk's passing, Khun Yay stayed on at Wat Paknam, out of a sense of duty to the dying words of the Great Abbot. Even ten years later, many people continued to express the view that Khun Yay Chandra would be no good as a meditation teacher because she spoke so lit- tle compared with the late Khun Yay Thongsuk. However, Khun Yay had confidence in herself that somehow her ability would be of help to the world. Khun Yay had never been trained to be a preacher of Buddhism, only as a deep meditator. She had no skill in public-speaking but her mastery was the internal strength built through years of intensive meditation. She had a very decisive personality. Assured of the existence of the Dhammakāya through her own meditational experience, she never used flowery words to attract others' inter- est in meditation.
