Acknowledgments This book draws on the biography of Khun Yay from three different Thai sources. The relevant chapters of Deun bai su kwam suk (c.1970) compiled by various authors was translated by Chalemrsri Pongsai. Prapasri Boonsuk’s 1998 biography of Khun Yay was translated by Phra Nicholas Thanissaro. Ratanamala’s (2002) biography of Khun Yay’s final years Yoo kap Yay was translated by Pittaya Tisuthiwong and sub-edited by Mark David George. The three sources were compiled and re-edited into a single book by Phra Nicholas Thanissaro. For the first edition, additional thanks are deserved by Chatchai Sribundith, Puengpit Poopornake, Wallop Niltanom, Preecha Ourrasameewong, Buddhist Graphic Arts Department of the Dhammakāya Foundation, Oranuj Thitiyanaporn and Chalom Srirarus for design and administrative assistance.
