The Path to Sainthood According to Buddhism The Buddha’s First Teaching หน้า 184
หน้าที่ 184 / 263

สรุปเนื้อหา

The text discusses the possibility of achieving Sainthood when the Buddha arises and our Perfections are fully developed, exemplified by Koṇḍañña. If not, there's potential for rebirth in heavenly realms, akin to the 18 crore Brahmas mentioned in the Dhammacakkapavattana Sutta, ultimately leading to Sainthood alongside the first disciple. This illustrates the continuity of spiritual progression within Buddhism, emphasizing the link between Perfections and spiritual attainment.

ข้อความต้นฉบับในหน้า

Whenever the Buddha arises in the world and our Perfections are sufficiently developed, we too may be the first disciple to attain Sainthood in that Buddha’s dispensation, in the same way as Koṇḍañña. Failing this, if we take rebirth in heaven or the Brahma world, we may, like the eighteen crore1 Brahmas of the Dhammacakkapavattana Sutta, attain Sainthood along with the first disciple. 1. One crore, according to the ancient Indian numerical system is equal to ten million. Thus 18 crore is equal to 180,000,000. 182
