The Proclamation of Deities in Buddhist Cosmology : หน้า 208/263
The Buddha’s First Teaching : หน้า 208/263 Explore the significance of the proclamation by deities across different heavens leading to Koṇḍaṇā's enlightenment in Buddhist teachings.
In Buddhist cosmology, the deities of Yāma Heaven relay a proclamation to Tusita, Nimānārati, and Paranimitavasavatī Heavens, causing a cosmic event. This gains the attention of the Lord Buddha, referring to Koṇḍaṇā's emerging understanding. Koṇḍaṇā achieves realization yet only attains 'Stream-Entry' at this stage. His insights are limited to the Physical Human body, indicating a need for further advancement on the Eightfold Path. Upon progressing through the subtle realms, he can achieve higher states of enlightenment, ultimately leading to Non-Returner status.

Hearing the proclamation of the Nimānārati deities, the deities of the Paranimitavasavatī Heaven proclaimed the news to the whole of the Brahmā world.
The whole ten-thousand-fold cosmos shook and a limitless radiance extended throughout the cosmos surpassing even the radiance of the deities.
The Lord Buddha exclaimed,
"Āñāsi vatabho Koṇḍaṇo, āñāsi vatabho Koṇḍaṇo"
(Koṇḍaṇā now you have known and seen everything)
Accordingly, from that time on "Koṇḍaṇā" became better known by the title of "Āñā-Koṇdaṇā"
Some might wonder why Koṇdaṇā like the Buddha saw the three cycles and the twelve components, but only attained "Stream-Entry" and not arahantship. The explanation is that Koṇdaṇā’s vision and knowledge extended only to the Physical Human body. He had not yet seen the same in the more subtle inner bodies. He would have to follow the Eightfold Path further. Once he had seen them in the Angelic Body, he would become a Once-Returner. Once he had seen them in the (Form) Brahma-body, he would become an Non-Returner. Once he had seen them in the Formless Brahmā-body, he would become an Non-Returner. Once he had seen them in the Formless Brahmā-body, he would become an Non-Returner.
