until I tried to stop the frantic deluge of thoughts, each vying for my attention! I realized, then, for the first time in my life, how frenzied my “untrained mind" was after a lifetime of being taught to think, analyze, and reason, from my earliest childhood. Up until that moment in time, I had never attempted to "stop all thought and bring my mind to a complete standstill and to rest" ... which is the absolute essence of the Dhammakaya method of meditation. But like anything else that is to be mastered, meditation takes time and a genuine commitment to practice with a highly trained, experienced teacher. Little did I realize that my first twenty- minute session was to alter the course of my understanding and life, for all time. Peace 255
